I love to spend my professional time doing two things: working in the Moncton real estate market and/or helping small businesses grow. While it may be obvious that everyone is into Moncton real estate these days, small businesses are getting their fair share of love these days, too.

As of June 2021, the Globe and Mail reported that 2 million small businesses had launched in Canada since the beginning of the pandemic… and yes, that was almost a whole year ago. The Great Resignation has been a fertile ground for innovation, creativity and yes, entrepreneurship.

Perhaps no two words in residential real estate lead to more assumptions, ideas, opinions, “someone I know said”s, and just flat out misinformation than the elusive:

HERITAGE HOME

I’ve seen folks squeal with joy at these two words and I’ve seen folks retreat in fear. But as an avid lover of old homes, I feel strongly that it’s time we start talking more openly about the joys of preserving and caring for an older home - particularly one of historical significance.
